Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose a therapist that's right for me?
This is a great question and there are a number of things to consider in terms of choosing the right therapist for you. You may want to consider what training, skills and experience the therapist has, that are relevant to you and your situation? What qualities are you looking for in a therapist? Someone who can listen, that you feel seen, validated and heard, someone who is active in the sessions or not? Ultimately, do you feel safe and able to talk openly with this person? Evidence suggests, that the relationship is the most important aspect of successful therapy. I often work in an integrative way, drawing on many skills and approaches during the course of a therapy journey. Please get in touch and book a free consultation call to see if I might be the right fit for you.
How do I know which therapy approach is best for me?
Feel free to have a read on the therapy approaches page and have a think if any of those resonate with you. I often work in a This is something that we can discuss during a free consultation call, so please get in touch if you would like to discuss further.
Is face to face better than online?
Evidence suggests that online therapy can be just as affective as face to face/ in person therapy. We can also offer a hybrid approach to suit your needs. If we meet in person, this will typically be at our therapy rooms in Hove.
How often and how long do sessions last?
We would typically meet weekly at the same time and on the same day and sessions last 50-60mins.
How long will I have therapy for?
This is quite difficult to answer as it will depend on what you would like to work on and any constraints you may have. I work with people short term or on a longer term or ongoing basis. Typically after a few initial sessions we will review and discuss a plan for going forward and how many sessions we might allocate or agree before we review. If you would like to review the sessions sooner then we can discuss this.
How much does therapy cost?
Therapy sessions are £85 per 50-60mins. Sometimes we might agree longer sessions when clinically relevant. For this prices would be amended accordingly and agreed in advance.
How do I pay for my sessions? Do you accept insurance?
If you are privately funding we will request that you pay by BACS transfer 48hrs in advance of your appointment. If you need to pay by another method or if you are using medical insurance (such as BUPA etc) to pay for your sessions, we can discuss that with you. Please feel free to get in touch and book a free consultation call.
